Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some frequently asked questions from other doubting thomases.

Is this drugs? Are you selling drugs?

No! KEYED does not contain CBD, kratom, Kava, or any other intoxicating substances you will tend to find among other “mood drinks.” KEYED is a perfect replacement for your morning coffee, or a quick pick-me-up before your next presentation. TLDR; if you fail your drug test, don’t blame us!

What is non-mold-derived citric acid?

Citric acid (the stuff they put in pretty much everything you drink) is made from black mold. Seriously, look it up. It may be contributing to the inflammation seen in asthma, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, autistic spectrum disorder, and fibromyalgia. The safety of citric acid has never been studied since it was granted GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) status. We are one of the only beverage companies that uses non-mold-derived citric acid.

Ashwagandha?

First off, no, it’s not the capital of Wakanda. Ashwagandha is one of the most common ingredients in mood drinks, because it has been shown to work like an antidepressant. However, it might have a ton of side-effects, so we don’t use it. Check the ingredients on your favorite mood drink. It’s probably loaded with Ashwagandha.

What is glycine?

Glycine is an amino acid, a compound that your body uses to create protein. Due to its prevalence in raw meat, our bodies evolved to stop naturally producing glycine. But when humans started cooking their food, they unintentionally cooked the glycine out of their diet. Now, glycine is only found in rare but critical parts of the human diet – like energy drinks. A healthy dose of glycine can regulate one’s mood, increase confidence and memory. It also improves sleep quality and often results in vivid dreams.

What else is in KEYED?

Rhodiola - an adaptogenic herb that helps the body adapt to and cope with stress. It's been used in traditional medicine for centuries - norse warriors in Scandinavia used rhodiola during raids to increase their stamina and will.

IInositol - a natural compound found in many foods. It may help reduce stress levels by influencing GABAergic neurotransmission, which is involved in calming the nervous system.

Magnesium - plays a crucial role in brain function and mood regulation. Studies suggest that adequate magnesium levels may positively impact mood. Many people are unaware that they have magnesium deficiency.

Vitamins b12, b1, b3 - play essential roles in brain function and neurotransmitter production, and are crucial for the production of serotonin and dopamine.

L-theanine - amino acid known for its potential to promote relaxation and improve mood without causing drowsiness. Combined with caffeine, it enhances alertness and attention for a smooth, jitter-free energy boost.
